Things to do in Vegas when you're 32
My personal new year officially began with the arrival of my birthday, March 2nd. On Wednesday March 1st, I took a road trip to Las Vegas and checked into the swanky Palace Station Hotel and Casino. It was great having time to relax and just have fun. I checked on jobs as a poker or blackjack dealer and got a few leads, spent 45 minutes in the hot tub (what the world needs now are more hot tubs), visited the major hotels on the strip, walked close to the length of the strip (once), bought some cool souvenirs and enjoyed the girls at the new Hooters Hotel and Casinos' Happy Brithday seranade over the period of time I was there.
Of course, I made time to play cards. It was the first time I had been in Vegas since learning to deal blackjack and poker. I didn't win anything playing blackjack and lost twenty dollars in the Palace Station casino. However, when I hit the strip I made a killing on the poker tables. (for my meager standards anyway). I made a $110 profit over six hours at the MGM Grand and another $60 at the Riviera a day later.
I did not get to go to a show. I figured it would be too expensive until I discovered a place that sells tickets for half price the day of the show. I'll have to do that when I come back. There were some great deals. The most flirting I got to do was at the card tables. I didn't go to any nightclubs though. That will be another thing to do when I go back. I didn't go to any strip clubs since I had no one to buy me my birthday lapdance. I suppose I could have considered all the cheddar I raked in at the poker tables as a lot of guys putting in on my birthday lapdance but I didn't. One more thing for the list, a belated birthday lapdance.
I left Vegas friday night and arrived in Phoenix a little over four hours later. My cousin showed me the place he got for us. Its a nice two bedroom, two bath place in a complex with a pool in the courtyard. I saw the Dave Chappelle movie which I recommend to everyone. I did some shopping, visited some really cool nightclubs and sang some karaoke. I made up for all the flirting I didn't get to do in Vegas. Quite a few women approached me, which i'm not used to after being sequestered in Page for so long. Its nice to be noticed for a change.
Now its back to the business at hand. I left my job at the hotel and now I just focus on teaching. I substitute during school hours now and work on putting Clue together in the afternoon. Its still a major work in progress. Luckily, time has slowed for me a bit since my birthday excursion and i'm gonna need all the time I can get. Pray for me.
